SCOPE

1. First Retail Census for alcohol in Ethiopia:

WAAS conducted the initial retail census for the alcohol category in Ethiopia, which included technical design, data collection for 80,000+ outlets that sell alcohol both on-premise and off-premise.

 

2. Retail Census (FY2021):

We are currently conducting the retail census for Heineken which will be completed in May 2021. Target outlets are more than 80,000.

 

3. Retail Audit Tracker (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)

We have been conducting this monthly tracker for over 4 years on behalf of Heineken. We work with TRAC who conducts the analysis and reporting.

 

4. Consumer Research projects

WAAS has successfully run consumer research projects which include understanding the beer consumer, non-alcoholic beverage consumer etc and this research has seen the successful introduction of brands such as:

– Walia Beer Larger and Walia Draught
– Sofi Buna Malt Beverage
– Sofi Malt
